Our Story

ip4H all started with a love of sports. My kids grew up playing and watching sports all the time and to say that they are competitive would be an understatement. But as life goes, you win some, you lose some.

I believe that a lot of life lessons can be learned through playing sports. Hard work, dedication, teamwork, persistence, grace in winning and losing, etc. Through years of coaching youth sports, I came to realize that coaching was more about life than the sport itself. Some of the kids that I have coached have unbelievable stories - stories that would break your heart. Playing sports was an escape for them. Practice and games allowed them to just be a kid for a few hours playing a sport that they loved.

As I watched my own daughters compete at the high school and travel ball levels, I became more focused on their personal growth than stats and winning. When emotions ran high after a competitive game or a tough loss, I would try my best to help them gain perspective by telling them “remember who you play for.” As long as they had fun, tried their hardest and played for Him, it was all good.

ip4H was just an idea for many years. At first, it was just about athletes and how we could help them tell their stories about the amazing things God has done in their lives. Not just professional or big-time college athletes, but the kids grinding it out in D-III, high school or even rec leagues. Everyone has a story and we wanted to help them share it with the world.

Over time, ip4H morphed into something well beyond sports. We believe that people are awesome and that we all have God-given talents. It doesn't matter what you do - if its sports, music, photography, theater, art – when you do it for Him, you have already won.

The logo was designed to spark a conversation. It is also a public declaration of faith. We have been asked many times while out in public, "what does ip4H stand for?" This question provides an opportunity to talk to someone about Christ and the amazing things that He has done for you. Who knows, maybe you'll even change someone's life!

Over time, we will be bringing you extraordinary stories from ordinary people. Feel free to join in on any social media platform and share your story! #ip4H
